In regards to my questions....

>What type of interface does the Sparcprinter have?
>Does someone have the specifications on this interface?

>The matter at hand is: Can I put a brand X serial laser printer on the
>same port as the sparc printer use to be on? On the other hand, can I
>put a Sparcprinter on a serial port? Thanks in advance.

The first two questions.... No one knows for sure. No one has specifications
for this interface. Some mentioned it may be some kind of video
interface but I have my doubts because I'm currently operating one printer
with the Sparcprinter cable supplied attached to a 200 foot RS-232 extension
cable attached to a 25 foot ribbon cable attached to the printer and it works
good. Seems to me that setup would kill just about any video interface.

The last two questions are no and no. It is the feeling of myself and several
peoples responses that this interface is a syncronous serial interface of
a proprietary nature. Possibly running as fast as 10MB/sec. This sounds
about right when you consider the distance I mentioned above.

Thanks to the following peoples. Thanks.
