Hi,
this silly error messages (see my original help message below) leads me in a false direction. After trying to boot from tape and cdrom with no result I 've taken a look to the cabeling and I found a half-loose scsi cable for an external disk. I've done a some hardware resets and now is the machine back again. No memory errors!
Thanks to Perry Hutchison (perryh@pluto.rain.com) and Christopher Hylands (cxh@slepian.eecs.berkeley.edu) for their first hints.

Have a good day without such non problems.

Subject: Help: Bus error message of a Sun 4/370

Hi,

can someone explain the following message after an unsuccessful boot:

bus errot at Virtual address 0xFFEC4E4C (Physical address 0xFA000E4C)
With PC 0xFFE828DC. Page Table entry is marked INVALID. Type 1.

What can I do? It sounds like something wrong with the physical memory.
The first memory check after power on came through without any problems.

It's a Sun 4/370 with Solaris 1.1.
Thanks a lot for any hints.
