I have just been contacted by sun telemarketing. There was a mixup in the
information they gave me. The ie-ethernet-driver/intel-chip ARE supported
by Sun in the normal configuration for the SparcServer 4/470-4/490 series;
those with an enet chip on the mother board. In the past they sold a
separate card for the VME bus that has been discontinued and I inadvertantly
got the information for that configuration. My account rep was told that
support was discontinued for the line and passed that on to me.

Sun sez we have an out-of-rev mother board and our collisions will go away
if we come up to rev. Novadyne, our hardware supporter, is coming tomorrow
with new cards for all nodes that might be out of rev.
