The following was suggested (by one person - thanks!) for configuring a
Sun Sparc running SunOS 4.1.2 to work with their WangDAT 1300. Add the
following lines to the structure constants in the the kernel file
/usr/sys/scsi/targets/st_conf.c:
/* WangDAT Model 1300 3.81mm helical scan cartridge */
{
"WangDAT 3.81mm Helical Scan", 7, "WangDAT", ST_TYPE_EXABYTE, 512,
(ST_BSF | ST_BSR | ST_LONG_ERASE | ST_AUTODEN_OVERRIDE),
5000, 5000,
{ 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, },
{ 0, 0, 0, 0 }
}
I've used this for a couple of days and although it still doesn't seem
to stream the tape properly, it does at least stop the OS dumping an
'unknown device' message on the console the first time I access the
drive.
