As was rightly pointed out to me, I screwed up. I got confused
and mixed up the patches, I had written a warning (on my own list)
for the wrong patch. There is of course no relations between
100170-01 (ld) and ld.so (100257). It's 100257-04 which won't
work on 4.1.3c.
However, as pointed out by Gary Mills (mills@CC.UManitoba.CA), patch
100257-05 (I got it on Oct. 1st) might solve the problem, from the README
file:
-----> 1070559: SPARC ld.so's are not architecture independent
So it might be that the -05 version works on the LX, it should be
easy to check, install it and watch for all the dynamically linked
applications to start crashing :-)
Sorry for the wasted bandwidth.
