SUMMARY: internal floppy DYI

Here's an approximate summary of the information I acumilated from my
quest to install a floppy drive in my sparc 1 myself.
Note that I still have not installed one. This list may give you an
idea as to the delay ;-/

annoyance 1:
The power connection on the motherboard that is meant for the drive is
"special". The "easiest" thing to do may be to get an adaptor from the
"regular" PC-type power connectors to whatever power connector your
particular floppy drive has.

annoyance 2:
There's no space for an "eject" button on the case. Just the little
mac-like pin-hole. The choices then are three-fold..
  a) cut the case (yeuck)
  b) deal with that fact that you're always going to have to use a
     paperclip to eject disks
  c) make very sure that you buy a floppy drive that will work with the
sparc's eject signal. I am surmising that the mac drives will work
okay for this. but I have NOT CHECKED THIS YET!!

annoyance 3:
If you happen to not have a mounting bracket for it.. you're in a lot
of trouble. You're going to specifically need a sun internal _floppy_
mounting bracket. the internal hard drive mounting brackets seem to be
just a LEEEtle bit different. arrg.
