Machine: Sparcstation 1, Sun 4/330, Sparcstation 2
Question: how do you change the time zone (i.e. MET GMT etc.) once the operatin
g system has been installed, without going through Suninstall again.
Answers received:
1) locate your timezone file in /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo and copy it over the fi
le /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/localtime, for example:
> cp /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/MET /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/localtime
2) create a hard link named /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/localtime to the timezone f
ile in /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo
3) become superuser and then type
> zic -l <timezone>
4) create a soft link named /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/localtime to the timezone f
ile in /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo
I used answer number 4, then rebooted the machine, and it worked
