Sorry but I just pulled a couple of bone head stunts that I should have realized.
1. I just deleted the original article.
2. When I dumped the engineering home across the network ( about a week earlier and everything
seemed to work ) I had some permission problems. Most engineers are members of multiple
groups here, and the checkin/out software is not a member of the engineers primary group.
With our users umask. The restore of the new file system had the effect of chmod
755 to all subdirectories.
Sorry but I wanted to see a complex solution, when the simple solution was right in front of me.
