I appreciate the overwhelming number of "ME TOO" responses I
received. I also received several that pointed out newsgroups and
on-line databases, these I've included.
Someone suggested that a HP-managers group be started. I don't have
the resources, or the know how to implement their suggestion but
I think this is a great idea.
My brief summary reflects the fact no interactive forum-type solution
was found. Access to on-line data repositories is not as effective
as an active interchange of ideas.
It's unfortunate that vendors do not provide forum based access
to systems integrators like ourselves. It would seem to be to their
own marketing advantage to allow customers and engineering teams
to share real life integration concerns. This would provide true
customer feedback on their own products and computing solutions.
For the record I have access to the HP-support line but as I
stated earlier it not as effective.
We've recently been forced upon to managed 70+ HP workstations
rather than real machines. The decision was political as well
I'm looking for an HP-Managers group similar to our sun-managers
group. Does any one know if one exists? How can I subscribe to
FWIW, I managed HP nets (ick) for several years along with
"real UNIX" (tm). I know of no mailing list for HP at all.
I am *very* happy to be back on Suns again and away from HP.
The newsgroup comp.sys.hp (and maybe swnet.sys.hp) would
probably be your best bet.
Hope this helps !
The only list I've found follows - although there seems to be
very little activity.
