Hi all:
Thanks for all the replies. The big winner was "upgrade". You really need
at least 4.0a for real performance with Windows, and PC-NFS v5 is slick.
Other suggestions:
Try an interrupt other than 3 (such as 2 or 5) for COM2 reasons.
Get rid of the STACKS line in CONFIG.SYS.
Try a generic packet driver, and an unsupported one from Sun.
Ditch the EMM line altogether; PC-NFS doesn't need it and it seems to
cause conflicts.
In general, don't use FASTOPEN.
Make sure server ran rpc.pcnfsd.
Someone referred me to Weird Stuff Warehouse in CA for good prices on
PC-NFS.
I think the args to DEVICE=...EMM can go with or without forward slashes.
(That is, my predecessor had some there in other PCs.)
I also think upgrade is the way to go here. Thanks again.
