The responses I received all mentioned a product called SunNet Manager,
available from Sun for $3,565. This is a complete network management
station package - much more than the simple snmpd agent I am looking for.
But apparently you have to buy the big package to get the little agent.
If there is a public domain agent for my system, I have not found it.
I suggest to Sun that they consider doing what other vendors such as
DEC and IBM do and include an snmpd agent bundled into their standard
software.
