Original question

Does anyone know of any reverse assemblers or better still reverse
c compilers. A friend of mine has this old admin software that they
need to modify for their sparcs. The company that wrote the software
was in Germany and no longer around.

I would use archie but what to do if you do not know the name?
Thanks, and yes I will summarize.

Summary of replys

1) As reverse assemblers go, objdump in gnu binutils is pretty good.

2) Sun also has a disassembler. To the best of my knowledge, it was only
available in a development kit they sold for developers of chips based
on the SPARC architecture or related hardware. It's probably not worth
tracking down unless you already do this kind of work in which case you
   may have it already.

3) Does anybody have the source for a working undump. This program takes
a core file and converts it into an executable. I need it for a project
I am doing. I got the sources for undump under TeX distribution, but
SUN4 version does not seem be functional.
