Thank you all who responded especially to Pauline van Winsen,Syed Zaeem
Hosain, Glenn Satchell, Mike Daffey for pointing out the problem: missing
or corrupt /sys/sun4c/OBJ/ufs_vnodeops.o object file. I reinstalled it and
rebuilt the kernel...The error messages went away.
