Well , after 5 hours of restless sleep, upon my return to the lab todat our problem was resolved, sort of. Apparently the error I stated (see below) was not really an error. YThe system was stuck in a loop after the secondary ethernet (SBE board) was called. Apparently that board, and the differential wer toasted. No one is taking responsibility for it, but it looks like a differential 8mm tape drive was plugged into the SCSI port on the secondary scsi/ethernet card. Maybe even wirth the power o
It is also bad to plug a differential device into the bus with the power on. SCSI was OK with it (sort of) but differential is not strong enough to handle the type of power spikes that can be put out when connected a powered device.
