Hello.
Please apologize my late summary, but at least i contacted the sun hotline.
There was a bug on the cpu board and also a bug on the disk. I have both
replaced and now the installation works fine.

Thanks for all the responses.

Wolfgang

Hello.
I want install Solaris 2.1 on a SUN Sparc IPC with 24 MB Memory on board.
During the booting from the cdrom following error message appears:
" ...
 configuring le0
 memory error: rmd in BUF
  ...
"
But nothing happens and anything seems okay. After installation the software
the machine tries to reboot but following errors appears:
" ...
  Hostname: marcellus
  Segmentation fault
  Segmentation fault
The / file system (...) is being checked
  Segmentation fault
  ...
"
after the next rebooting follwing appears:
" ...
  Hostname: marcellus
  Illegal Instruction
  /sbin/swapadd: expr: not found
  /sbin/swapadd: /usr/sbin/swap: not found
  The / file system ....
  /sbin/rcS: /usr/sbin/fsck:not found
  ...
"
It seems to me that something wouldn't be installed on the disk. The
disk has 632MB and is formatted with Solaris 2.1 format
(during Miniroot-Installation).

If there are some solutions i will summarize.

Thanks in advance
Wolfgang
