SUMMARY: Booting from Toshiba 3401

As I have received many request for this information I decided to post rather than try to reply to all the many people who asked.

This is from a FAX I received from Toshiba.

"XM-3401B drives have a multi-firmware enhancement feature. This will allow
production to select one of 4 different firmware configurations supplied with
the drive per specific customer requirement.

The options are:
0 Toshiba standard configuration (default condition)
1 512 byte block length configuration (2048 is standard)
2 SGI Version
3 Intergraph/Sun Micro configuration

These options are selected by opening certain etch(s), Fig. 1, between pads
shown in Fig. 2. If requirements change or etches are cut in error, solder
a small wire between the appropriate pads to obtain the desired configurtation.
