SUMMARY: problem with versatec plotter & 690

The original question was how to fix a problem with a versatec plotter
connected to a 690 that could not plot large plots, but could when
connected to a 4/280.

All respondees suggested looking at the spool area to make sure it has
enough space.

The real problem in our case turned out to be the way our CAD software
(Cadence Edge) was trying to talk to the plotter. It has a plotter host
name hard coded in a script where it sends the plot. It was originally
set up to go to the 280 as the plot host. When we switched the plotter
to the 690 and modified the printcaps, Cadence was still trying to talk
to the 280. A plot file would get sent to the 280, then forwarded to
the 690 instead of going directly to the 690. Somewhere along the way,
larger plot files would get corrupted.

When we changed the Cadence plot host to the 690, everything started working.

Thanks to the following for their suggestions, which indirectly led me to
track this down (I payed closer attention to the printcap and how the plot
was actually getting to the 690).
