My original question...
> Does anyone have a format.dat entry for a Seagate ST43400N?
I received the following from Gary Riseborough. Thanks Gary!
disk_type = "Arte Seagate ST43400N" \
: ctlr = SCSI : fmt_time = 12 \
: ncyl = 2733 : acyl = 3 : pcyl = 2738 : nhead = 21 : nsect = 99 \
: rpm = 5400 : bpt = 50688
partition = "Arte Seagate ST43400N" \
: disk = "Arte Seagate ST43400N" : ctlr = SCSI \
: a = 0, 45738 : b = 22, 182952 : c = 0, 5681907 : d = 110, 1143450 \
: g = 660, 395010 : h = 850, 3914757
The format.dat worked fine when formatting using 4.1.3, but I was unable to run a newfs on 4.1.3. No
matter what parameters I used I constantly got seek errors. So I tried running a newfs using Solaris 2.1
and it worked!
Thanks Everyone
Julie
