Original question:

 I upgraded a client's server (VAMX00) to Open Windows 3.0.
Now users can print from any machine on the LAN to Laser0 and
lp0, but NOT to laser4 and lp4.

Let's see, the machines are running SunOS 4.1.1, newsprint 1.0,
Openwin 3.0. VAMX00 has a /usr/openwin2.0 directory and a
/usr/openwin3.0 directory and /usr/openwin is a link to
/usr/openwin3.0. Newsprint is in /export/newsprint on VAMX00.
VAMX04 mounts /usr and /export/newsprint from VAMX00.

SUMMARY:

Many people suggested I upgrade to newsprint 2.*, good idea, but not
a short term solution.

Many people suggested I re-install Newsprint 1.0 with a subset of
Openwindows 2.0 on VAMX00. I did this, but got no results.

Others suggested I re-install and then hand edit the .param file
in /var/spool/laser4 (name of the printer) on VAMX04 so that
OPENWINHOME=/usr/newsprint/small_openwin.

I did this and restated the deamons and LO! Never has one beheld
such beauty as that first printed sheet! (it worked!)
