I was having a problem with ps giving the following error message:
ps: ftw() failed, operation not applicable
This turned out to be due to the corruption of the symbolic link
/dev/bd.off. In order to fix it, I had to remove the corrupted file
and create a new one pointing to /dev/term/b. When I first tried to
fix it, I mv'ed the old link to /dev/bd.off.save but had to actually
remove the file entirely for the fix to work.
The guy that I spoke with at Sun did not know why ps would be looking
at /dev/bd.off....
Thanks to those that responded!
