SUMMARY : Name finder..

Some time ago (quite some time in fact..) i posted the followg questions :

1..

I have got into a strange probem with the colors using SunSolve.

My setup is as follows :
I run openwindows (OW3) with (Mit) mwm (X11R4) on top in order to get the best of both
worlds...

However, the Pageview gives me a problem displaying light green text on light green
background (i.e. invisible..) after the screenlocking (xlock) has been used. I need
to exit and restart the window environment in order to get it to run properly.

I need to add that I (always) have a background image displayed on my screen (256 colors),
have a cgthree adapter.

After the restart the pageview works ok (even with the wall paper image) until I run
xlock..

Any suggestions ?

2.

After upgrading to OW3 I'm not able to get up the 'name finder' in the mailtool.
This was a veary important feature and should be available also in OW3. Can somebody
give me a hint on how to bring it up (if it's still there....)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

To be frank I was not drowned in responses, however the ONE i got went as follows :

1.

me too me too. I suspect that pageview is not doing any colour
allocation and is relying on the colours still being the default ones.
I hope you find a fix for this one.

2.
It is gone for good. Apparently the name finder did not work properly
and it was deemed too hard to fix so the feature was dropped, it upset
quite a few of my users here and when we complained to sun we got the
answer I have told you :-(

However som further research into question 2 lead me to a piece of sw which is called 'name_finder' (rel 1.2) which I by accident found on 2 machines :

clover.csv.warwick.ac.uk : /pub/misc/name_finder1.2.tar.Z & wilbur.eng.auburn.edu : /pub/name_finder1.2.tar.Z

It does the same job as the old name finder under OW2 + a little more....

When thinking about it, a small script grep'ing and awking the YP output would do the same....
