Thanks for everyone's quick responses:
My question was:
I could not use YPPASSWD or PASSWD -Y to change my NIS password. I got the
following message:
glnpogis2{fdl}1: yppasswd
Changing NIS password for fdl on glnpogis2.
Old password:
New password:
Retype new password:
Error from glnpogis2: Password incorrect
Could anyone of you tell me what's wrong? Thanks.
The solution to this problem is:
The problem was that the password in /etc/passwd is different from the NIS
password for the user fdl. To solve this kind of problem, I used the
following method on my NIS MASTER server:
Delete the ID fdl from /etc/passwd
cd /var/yp
make passwd
add ID fdl back to /etc/passwd
cd /var/yp
make passwd
Thanks again to all of you.
