I got a whacking big load of responses in addition to the three I found
yesterday morning, so I am posting a quick follow up.
There are 5 additional answers to the query.
1) use rdist.
2) If there is a commonly mounted file system, put the printcap file in
there and create a symbolic link in the /etc directory to point at it.
3) Solaris 2.1 is supposed to incorporate the NIS printcap feature.
4) Get the lpr stuff from Berkeley.
5) try the plp stuff, available via anon ftp from ftp.dcs.ed.ac.uk, look for
something like pub/plp.
I would like to thank you all for taking the time to answer me and to add
to the summary that I sent originally.
