Here is a disktab entry I created for my NeXT, along with the key to
the format. I suspect the obvious translation will work fine on the
Sun, but please summarize anyway so I can put the Sun version in my
format.dat list.

I've been using:

FUJITSU M2652SA: ncyl=1935 acyl=2 pcyl=1937 heads=20 sectors/track=88

I didn't create a format.dat entry, these are the values that the
drive came with from Dilog (now called Open Storage Solutions). I
have no idea if this is the best that can be done or not, I haven't
had time to play with the parameters.

Hi Larry, I just posed this question in comp.sys.sun.admin and here
is a reply that I received.

--sandra

-----------------------------------------------------
Here's one I got directly from Fujitsu support that's
working perfectly...

disk_type = "Fujitsu M2652SA" \
        : ctlr = SCSI : fmt_time = 4 \
        : ncyl = 1935 : acyl = 2 : pcyl = 1944 : nhead = 20 : nsect = 88 \
        : rpm = 5400 : bpt = 52864

==================== Rafi Sadowsky <rafi@tavor.openu.ac.il> ==================

this is not optimal but it works ...
[I have an untried entry built according to the OEM manual somewhere
if you'r feeling adventerous - mail me and I'll dig it up
you might gain ~30+ M as far as I recall ]
---------------------------
# You should leave all jumpers in their default factory settings except
# you must open jumper 5-6 on CNH1 and open 11-12 also on CNH1.

disk_type = "FUJI-M2652-2G" \
        : ctlr = MD21 : fmt_time = 3 \
        : ncyl = 1934 : acyl = 2 : pcyl = 1936 : nhead = 20 : nsect = 88 \
        : rpm = 5400 : bpt = 52800
