Must be a sign of mail overload -- the summary postings generate almost
as much data as the original questions. After posting "The Great Mousepad
Detective", the following gem snuck into the mailbox. I haven't tried
it yet, but have great faith in the idea....

Sorry I didn't see the original posting, but I do have
something you might be interested in - a printable mousepad for Type 3
keyboards. After lamination of some sort, they are quite usable. Do
with it as you see fit ... original authors unknown.
