Well....blush. I knew it would be something like this.
If you recall, my modem suddenly stopped answering phone calls after I reread
in the factory settings and changed the only setting that I needed to change
(it was even written down).
It turns out that the default setting is for the modem not to answer (i.e.
S0=0)
I changed S0=1 (S0 is the register to set how many rings to answer on) and
it works.
I'm sure I didn't set this before, but I must have.
I updated my modem setting file.
