SUMMARY: RARP Timed Out

The original question was as followed:

I am trying to add a 4/370 to the ethernet, when the machine is booting I get the following message
   le0: RARP Timed Out

Does anybody know what this message means and how to fix it?

It turns out that the machine was missing the /etc/hostname.le0 file and also the following line needed to be added to the rc.local file
  "ifconfig -a netmask + broadcast + > /dev/null".
Once these items were added the machine was able to find its internet address and booted up properly. Thanks to everybody that responded
