Response, as always, was very prompt from a number of people. I
already knew the book by Nemeth et al, a good BSD administration guide
(if not the only one), but it's coverage of the performance issues is
limited. Loukides's book received the most indications, I will buy
one for me. Hal Stern's paper is much more concerned with the
networking issues, but on nic.ja.net one can find a good collection of
papers about performance issues (SCSI disks, NFS) and Sun hardware
implementations, most of them written by people from Sun. See the
list of gathered material at the end of this msg.
