Sun-Folks,

A couple of days ago I posted to this group about a problem with an ALM board:

I'm having a bit of a problem with an MTI 16 port serial board.
It is currently attached to a Sun 3/160 running SunOS 4.1.1. It
seems that none of the ports on the board will support any kind
        of flow control.

Well, it turns out that this is not an uncommon problem with these ALM I boards.
In fact Sun has several patches currently available for this problem. Alot of people
wrote in telling me to try such-and-such a patch. However the one that actually
solved the problem for me was patch ID# 100137-01. Here's the readme; look familiar?

Thanks to everyone who took the time to drop me a line. I appreciate all your
support.

BTW: pick up the file /communications/serial.ps.Z from ftp.uu.net, tons of useful
info on serial communications with Sun equipment. Thanks dudes!
