Many thanks to all eleven of you who replied to my request. The
general concensus was that the 9pin serial ports on the back of a 4/360
fileserver are 'standard' IBM Pc style.
Some suggested that we use commercial pre-made Pc 9 -> 25pin cables.
We do in fact have some of these already, but found that the 9pin end was the
wrong sex (sun ports are female, Pc ports are male) and could not locate any
9pin gender changers. We have made up our own cable and it works!
Here, for anyone else who is uncertain about these ports is one of the
clearest replies (pins 2 and 3 are swapped about for null modem):
