OK OK OK OK OK OK OK !!
I am posting this now, before I run out of disk space... I have
recieved 141 replies thus far and the phone is still ringing.
MY ORIGINAL REQUEST FOLLOWS :
Does anybody kow if there is a way of tracking users' logins? The
actual information I need is login and logout information for each
day. The "finger" command lists only the last time the user logged
in but it provides the information I will need. The "ac" command
provides total information for each day, but doesn't provide the
information the "finger" command does.
I would like to see output similar to this:
Nov 8 user1 logged in at 9:00 and logged out at 5:00 on ttyxx from
system-name
Is there something like this available? Is there a script I can
write?
Any help would be appreciated. Send all replies / Flames to me
directly. Thanks.

The two biggest replies was to use the "last" command and also to use
"who /usr/adm/wtmp". I am not sure why, but "last" does not exist on
my system. At least not before the mail started flooding in. I have
aquired it from a friend and all seems to be just what I am looking
for (EXACTLY). Obviously, I would be old, gray, and seriously
crippled in the wrist from replying to everybody that responded.
Therefore, I would like to say thanks to all who did respond to this
simple request. You know who you are (All 141 of you!).
Thanks again,
